SUPPORT CMPS

Since 2019, Central Mass Pastel Society has worked to bring the joy, satisfaction, and inspiration of fine art to its members and the public through a wide-ranging program of exhibitions, learning activities, and community engagement. In 2023, we offered free online demos and artist talks,  in-person workshops, a Members’ show, our in-person National pastel exhibition with a Board-led gallery talk, a new mixed media/pastel exhibition, a member meetup and discussion. At the same time, the costs running the society--costs you do not "see" but pay for our systems, services, and show-related expenses--increased 20-30% over last year. 

As we enter our 6^th year, we seek to sustain and increase our services and programming to you, and to continue to nurture the unique sense of connection and community that the arts can foster. Your support can help us make up the gap in what we offer and what it costs in innumerable ways. For example, here are some of our regular programming costs that your contribution in any amount can help defer. Donations of $10 or more add up quickly and we are grateful for them all:

• communications and administrative expenses (example: $10-100 for photocopying, postage, miscellaneous printing)
• scholarships for a student or developing artist (example: $150 for a workshop scholarship)
• juror fees for exhibitions (example: $150 or more)
• artist talks and demonstrations (example: $150 for an artist talk and $200 for demos that we  offer free to members)
• venues for workshops and community events (example: $250 for a hall rental for a workshop)
• awards for our exhibitions (example: $75-100 for a regular award; $100 for a named award; $ 150 for a category award; $500+ for a top award)
• exhibition venue fees (example: $850 plus other related rental fees)

This year, we are especially seeking donations to our Awards Fund as a means of helping us sustain all our other offerings to you as well as keeping our shows at the reputational forefront.
