Welcome to our 2026 Marks of Distinction National Juried Show! CMPS is delighted to bring you our annual exhibition of artworks in soft pastel from artists working throughout the United States and Canada. Congratulations to the accepted artists and award winners for your outstanding work, and thank you to our Jurors of Selection, Joe Kluck and Desmond O'Hagan, and our Judge of Awards, Conor Moynihan Bonacossa! 


Meet our Selection Jurors


Joe Kluck

Pennsylvania artist Joe Kluck is a Pastel Society of America Master Pastelist and IAPS Master Circle honoree. His award-winning work spans a wide range of subjects and genres, from cars and sports equipment to landscapes, fruit, and flowers, all reflecting his love of color and attraction to portraying everyday life.

Desmond O'Hagan

Colorado artist Desmond O’Hagan is a Pastel Society of Americal Master Pastelist and IAPs Eminent Pastelist. Best known for his narrative urbanscapes, he paints in both oil and pastel and has been featured in numerous publications, including Pastel Journal, Southwest Art, and Pratique des Arts.



Meet our Judge of Awards


Conor Moynihan Bonacossa

Conor Moynihan Bonacossa is Associate Curator of Prints, Drawings & Photographs at the RISD Museum, where he works across collection stewardship, acquisitions, exhibitions, research, teaching, and public engagement. His curatorial work focuses primarily on modern and contemporary works on paper and photography, with particular attention to artists and practices that expand traditional understandings of the collection. He has organized exhibitions including Variance: Making, Unmaking, and Re-making Disability, The Performative Self-Portrait, Listen!, and This is a Thing: Recent Gifts to Prints, Drawings, and Photographs. In addition to his curatorial and scholarly work, Bonacossa is actively involved in mentoring students and fellows and connecting RISD’s collections with the broader academic and public communities.
